Winter Weddings - The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company's guide to a very merry marriage!

Wonderful Winter Weddings!

It is perhaps the quietest season for weddings - but it can also be the most beautiful - especially if you're lucky enough to get snow! A summer celebration isn't for everyone - why not be a bit different and brighten up miserable November or chilly January with a wedding! (You'll probably get the pick of venues, caterers and photographers who are booked up in the summer for years ahead!)

Here is a run through of our favourite winter wedding ideas, cakes, dresses, decorations, bouquets, buttonholes and of course - confetti!

Natural themes - neutral colours and detailing like leaves, pine cones, logs, branches and berries work really well in winter - especially as seasonal flowers are scarce and colours in the landscape are muted.

One for the Boys - The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company's Petal Tips for Grooms

Real Flower Petal Confetti for Boys!

We feel that sometimes the men can get a little overlooked in the wonderful world of weddings - that's why we all love 'Don't Tell The Bride' here in the Confetti Office! So we thought we would re-address the balance by writing a blog post just for the boys...

The confetti moment traditionally marks the start of the wedding celebrations and the party - so we think that you shouldn't take it too seriously - it should be fun! It doesn't really matter if the confetti is correct shade of pink - it's a happy custom where your friends and family shower with love and luck for your newly married life!

Confetti flutters to bring joy and luck to your new life as Man & Wife!
All too often we hear - "Well I think it'll just be the ladies who will want to throw the petals..." - but we disagree - why not get everyone involved? The confetti photos are some of the best picture's you'll get of the wedding day, so don't leave the men out!

Take a picture with all the boys and another with just girls - they will look great next to each other in a photo frame. You could even introduce a bit of competition - we all know boys like that - so why not choose pink cones for the girls and blue cones for the boys and encourage some spirited petal throwing :-)

Pink and Blue Throwing Confetti (Box of 20 cones £46)
We love it when the confetti moment is personal - every now and again we pack up an order for Light Blue and Burgundy Rose Petals and we all say... "ooh, do you think the Groom is an Aston Villa fan ?" Choosing your favourite team's colours for your confetti is a great idea and might make up a little for missing that match?!

Light Blue and Burgundy Rose Petals - perfect for Villa or West Ham fans

Blue is the colour.....confetti is the game!

Come on the Reds - ideal for followers of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal... the list goes on

Magpie fans will love this Black and White Confetti

Or if rugby is more your sport, some of these combinations might be for you...

The ideal mix for Harlequins fans!

Gloucester Shed Head's will appreciate this 'Cherry and White' mixture

Beautiful colours - but also perfect for Leicester Tiger's supporters

Bit of a Bradley Wiggins fan? These gorgeous yellow petals are perfect for a spring or summer wedding - but you'll know that they are also a nod to the maillot jaune!

If cars and bikes are your passion - how about some Ferrari or Ducati red? It's and classy and very romantic colour too - your bride might prefer it put that way!

Perfect! (Photo: Liz Gregg)
Customarily it's a little flower girl who scatters petals and Bridesmaids who carry baskets of confetti petals  - but don't forget your ushers and pageboys! Your ushers could give a sachet of wedding confetti alongside the Order of Service when they guide your guests to their seats - this is a really easy and simple way to make sure everyone has their petal confetti ready for the big throw after the service.
